Retired Yankee player Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez has successfully sold his Miami three bedroom, three and a half bathroom home just eight months after purchasing it. The athlete purchased the simple but luxurious one story home in April of this year for $5.5 million, put it on the market before the end of that same month, and after selling it this week for $6.3 million, it's safe to say his investment paid off.

Located in the upscale Bay Point gated community, the property enjoys views of Miami’s skyline and Sabal Lake, which it is directly adjacent to. Along with access to the lake, the home flaunts a pool and outdoor kitchen, allowing residents numerous ways to enjoy the Florida sunshine. Indoors, the 3,100 square foot home is minimal with ceramic flooring, white walls, and recessed lighting. The buyers are reportedly more interested in its location than the structure itself and plan on building a spec home that showcases the property’s gorgeous views.

“Inventory in Bay Point is scarce, and my clients were specifically looking for something on the water,” Compass’s Julianna Castro, who represented the buyers, told the Post. “The views of Sabal Lake and Miami’s skyline sealed the deal.” The sale sets a new record for canal-front sales in Bay Point. Rodriguez was repped by Arlene Susy Dunand of Coldwell Banker—who happens to be his sister.

It’s speculated that A-Rod home listed the home so quickly after purchasing it because of his breakup with Jennifer Lopez in mid-April, though the exes still own a property on Miami’s Star Island that they purchased together in August 2020. Rodriguez also owns a home in nearby Coral Gables, Florida, which AD toured in 2017 and which was designed by architects Ralph Choeff and Paul Fischman and interior designer Briggs Edward Solomon.
