Millionaires in Congress are vying for reelection via their treatment of the most decorated nominee for Supreme Court justice in the last 30 years. Judge Jackson is probably gonna be confirmed by the end of the week, but we have to play the game until then. Let’s get to this Twitter round-up, shall we?

The support is growing more bipartisan by the minute:

Some of the votes are breaking familial expectations too:

Mitt Romney has also voiced support for the soon-to-be Justice:

I intend to vote in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to be an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. My statement: pic.twitter.com/uGaxx8sJn5

— Senator Mitt Romney (@SenatorRomney) April 4, 2022

Not without consequence, of course. A new fear, namely, that Judge Jackson will rule on the side of diverging in lines from a common center:

@MittRomney aren't you supposed to represent the people of Utah? They do not want Kentaji Brown Jackson confirmed. She is a radial activist. Stop playing global elitist..

googletag.cmd.push( function() { // Enable lazy loading. googletag.pubads().enableLazyLoad({ renderMarginPercent: 150, mobileScaling: 2 }); // Display ad. googletag.display( "div-id-for-bottom-300x250" ); googletag.enableServices(); });

This new worry is complemented by the worry that she will be soft on crime. Because folks care about enforcing laws now.

The hope is that the process moves on smoothly and swiftly. The whole process has had enough grandstanding from Ted Cruz and Lindsay Graham as is. When we look back at this moment in Civics classes, let’s hope that things aren’t made worse by some far less qualified politician trying to throw dirt on a good name.

My latest for @MSNBCDaily: Opposing a #SCOTUS nominee for no real reason other than that a President of a different party nominated her is a depressing sign of the times — and an alarming precedent for the future of the Court and the nation going forward:https://t.co/fU3qubwrgD

If this is the type of thing discussed in Civics classes of the future, that is. Republicans are trying to cancel retelling history accurately, after all.
