Access to abortion care is essential for women’s equality. I and my Boies Schiller colleagues will continue to fight alongside organizations like the Center for Reproductive Rights, state by state, law by law, to protect access where we can. We are not going anywhere.

— Joanna Wright, a member of the executive committee and diversity council at Boies Schiller Flexner, in comments given to the American Lawyer after the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade. Wright went on to note that this is the first time the high court has ever taken away a constitutional right, one that is “vital” to women’s healthcare. The firm has already notched a win in this battle after receiving a temporary restraining order against Louisiana’s “trigger laws,” which criminalized abortion in the state immediately after Roe’s reversal.
