After over 20 years in New York City’s Chelsea Mercantile building, celebrity chef Bobby Flay is finally waving goodbye to his duplex there. The New York Post reports that Flay fetched $5.6 million for the space, which is a combination of two units, the first of which he paid $815,000 for in 2000. Five years later he purchased the second unit for $1.5 million, and soon combined them.

The three bedroom three bathroom property was reimagined by Schefer Design and MG & Company, who worked on constructing all of Flay’s New York restaurants. The result is a spacious, bright space with plenty of room for entertaining between the lower level dining and living rooms and the great room upstairs. The space downstairs features one wall entirely covered by built-in shelving, while the upstairs area, which was previously used as a billiards room, houses a unique wet bar with a Zinc countertop from Paris.

Unsurprisingly, the kitchen is the most impressive area in the home, with lab cabinets, a walk-in pantry, and SubZero and Viking appliances, including dual dishwashers, a wine fridge, and a double oven. The expertly designed kitchen layout allows for socializing with guests while still allowing the chef some privacy as they cook. The primary suite offers two walk in closets and a five fixture bathroom slathered in marble.

The property has been on and off the market since 2016, but now that it’s sold the chef is officially free to enjoy the LA abode he purchased in 2019 and a second City of Angels spot that he nabbed in 2021.
