Last year, Harper’s Bazaar Spain was the gift that kept on giving. We’re hopeful that 2025 will be just as fruitful. Jimenez Mateos is making sure the new year gets off to a fine start, enlisting Cate Blanchett as a Harper’s Bazaar Spain cover star for February 2025. Nico Bustos is called upon to profile the Australian actress, with the magazine’s fashion editor Claudia Laukamp reporting for styling duties. In the two black and white cover images, Blanchett gazes down Bustos’ lens sporting a look from Giorgio Armani (which shouldn’t exactly come as a total surprise).

Also unforgiving of the art direction was crmsn. “Sponsored by Canva?” they asked.

“The stickers spelling out her name ruin it,” disapproved mepps.

“The drop shadow, bevel, and emboss effects look extremely cheap. The shot is beautiful, though,” shared forum member thiago.

Vogue28 voiced: “Questionable art direction aside (which does make complete sense for an issue centered around paper), I am loving this. Cate Blanchett looks fantastic here, love how the team has profiled Cate here. The two covers are terrific. You can never go wrong with a classic black and white studio shoot!”
