— Katherine Loanzon, managing director at Kinney Recruiting, in comments given to the American Lawyer, on the place where nearly 80 Cooley associates now find themselves in the wake of being laid off. Those associates’ profiles were removed from the firm’s website almost immediately and given three months’ of severance. “Before the pandemic, [associate] severance would be between three and six months,” Loanzon said. “Some firms can be more generous, especially if it’s an associate who has put more time into a firm and created more value for the firm.”
