Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Buys His Mom a House

Well, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has had an immensely successful career over the past few decades, in both professional wrestling and acting, and as such, he’s bought his mom multiple houses over the years. But yesterday, the performer shared a few videos of touring the latest home he purchased and thoroughly decorated for his mother, Ata Johnson, on Instagram, and it is perhaps the most unique one of all.
"She’s told me over and over these past few years, ‘After a lifetime of traveling, I want this home to be my last. Thats [sic] my dream,’ Johnson captioned the first video, which shows his mother walking into the space for the first time. “Mom, there’s no greater feeling than to make you happy,”
Though little of the exterior can be seen, the white-paneled home appears to be traditional in style, with some more modern accents, like the minimal white fireplace visible in the sitting room at the front of the home. Light floods into the all-white space, which features built-in cabinetry brimming with framed photos, small potted plants, and tchotchkes.

Another video, also posted yesterday, shows his mother walking into the family room where her vintage ukulele collection was mounted on the wall, along with an array of old photos of her parents and their ancestors. In the final video, she’s floored by her first look of what they call the “Smackdown Room,” where her son’s wrestling and other career memorabilia is displayed under in-cabinet lighting. “Welcome home,” he tells her as she gazes around the space.
