After four years of ownership, Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has sold his Tribeca penthouse for $49.5 million, the New York Post reports. The racecar driver purchased the spot for $43.9 million, so though he made a pretty penny, it marks a significant drop from the $57 million that it was originally listed for in February of 2019.

The five bedroom, six full bathroom, and two half bathroom home is located at the top of a converted book binding factory that was built in 1883. The unit’s 8,900 square feet of space is spread between three floors, the topmost of which features a lounge that opens to 3,400 square feet outdoors. The bodacious terrace has an outdoor kitchen, dining space, numerous seating areas, and most decadently, a plunge pool. Arched windows flood the double height great room with light, creating a quietly luxurious energy in the space. Numerous deep soak tubs are offered in the unit’s many marble-accented bathrooms, and for further relaxation, a Turkish hammam and a 70-foot pool are available elsewhere in the building.

Hamilton, a U.K. native, is far from the first star to be attracted to the building—Harry Styles, Rebel Wilson, The Weeknd, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Meg Ryan are among the many celebrities who’ve purchased a lavish homes there over the years. But although Hamilton is leaving the building, he’s not done with the neighborhood. In 2019, shortly before putting the space he’s now sold on the market, Hamilton purchased a different Tribeca penthouse just two minutes away for $40.7 million.
