It is extremely rare to find a property that evokes a sexy Tribeca loft, a sophisticated Park Avenue penthouse, and a historic landmark all in one, but a New York City apartment featured on season three of HBO’s blockbuster series Succession brings all three of these things to the table. And the 29th floor condominium (known as Pavilion A) in Tribeca’s Woolworth Tower Residences—one of the most historically significant buildings in New York—is listed for $23.355 million.

The celebrated architect Thierry W. Despont, who was behind prolific projects such as the restoration of the Statue of Liberty and the renovation of The Ritz in Paris, led the building’s interior design. His chic style is evident everywhere, including inside Pavilion A.

Earlier this season, Succession, which follows a wealthy media family and their travails, featured scene after scene in this showpiece of an apartment, where Kendall Roy’s (portrayed by Jeremy Strong) ex-wife Rava (Natalie Gold) lives. It’s also where he creates a war room to plot against his father Logan (Brian Cox), as his sister Siobhan (Sarah Snook), brother Roman (Kieran Culkin), and others make appearances and show their support, or lack thereof.

Spanning more than 6,700 square feet, the home has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half baths. Its two biggest attention-grabbing features are unobstructed views of the city skyline and East and Hudson Rivers from nearly every vantage point, and a duplex terrace that measures over 2,700 square feet. The lead real estate agent for Pavilion A, Stan Ponte of Sotheby’s International Realty, who leads a tour of the apartment in a new video on AD’s YouTube channel, says that this is the second-largest unit in the Woolworth Towers. “It’s more akin to a countryside mansion than a city residence and has elements that give it a loft feel,” he says.

The striking black spiral staircase in the great room leading to the mezzanine is one example, but there’s also the impressive great room itself, with 22-foot-high ceilings and twin skylights. A Baccarat chandelier complete with the signature single red crystal adds drama to the space. “You can entertain 200 people in here comfortably,” Ponte says.

The rooftop terrace is another prime entertaining venue and large enough to also accommodate 200 of your closest friends for a sit-down dinner. For more intimate gatherings, look to the formal dining room that’s a throwback to another era when the city’s elite regularly hosted extravagant parties where the champagne was free-flowing and unlimited caviar was a given.

Bedrooms have their own wing, and the primary suite features a morning kitchen, access to the terrace, and a walk-in closet. Finishes throughout Pavilion A, as expected, are as premier as it gets. The kitchen features two Miele dishwashers, custom cabinets from the Molteno Group, and Calacatta Caldia marble from Italy.

As attractive as the penthouse is, the building it’s in is a big part of the appeal. Finished in 1913, the Woolworth Tower was the corporate headquarters for F.W. Woolworth. Frank Winfield Woolworth, who built his fortune on five-and-dime stores, commissioned Cass Gilbert to design the building on Broadway, and it once held the record for being the tallest in the world.

The 792-foot-tall neo-Gothic architectural wonder was named a National Historic Landmark in 1966. Fast-forward to today, and the New York development firm Alchemy Properties has transformed floors 29 through 58 into 32 of the city’s most high-end condominiums. Amenities for those who call this place home include a swimming pool, wine cellar and tasting room, wine storage, billiards room, a lounge reminiscent of a handsome private club, and a gym.

Living in Pavilion A is a chance to intertwine yourself with two design styles: the elegant Old New York and the over-the-top modern luxury seen scene after scene on Succession. “We hope that the new owners of this extraordinary home enjoy its light, views, and extraordinary ceiling heights without all the stress, drama, and plotting of the Roy family,” Ponte says.
