John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are preparing to wave goodbye to the East Coast. The couple, who share daughter Luna, 5, and son Miles, 3, just listed their pair of Nolita penthouses for $18 million, the first of which they purchased in 2018 for $9.02 million and the second in 2020 for $7.7 million. The units are located in a landmarked building that dates back to the 19th century when it served as a home to a luxury horse carriage maker.

The two penthouses, which were modernized in 2012, contain six bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread over 6,164 square feet. The space still has plenty to show for its roots in the 1800s, including plenty of exposed brick and customary high ceilings. Of course, there are modern additions, like a metal fireplace and stairs that feature exposed wine storage underneath. Seeing as former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Teigen is now the bestselling author of three cookbooks, the show stopping kitchen comes as no surprise. The space features Amuneal custom cabinets, Miele appliances, and bright rectangular pendant lights that tie in well with the home’s industrial chic appeal.

“We’ve realized that because of work and everything, we’re really mostly going to be in Los Angeles, so we’re going to focus our home-building energy and renovation energy on what we’re doing in L.A,” Legend, the Grammy-winning singer of hits like “All of Me” told Wall Street Journal about the decision to sell the Big Apple pads. The listing includes a proposed renovation plan that would allow for more bedrooms and an expansion to the great room.

The listing is held by Noble Black, David Son, Jennifer Stillman, and Corinne (Cory) Cahlon at Douglas Elliman.
