John Roberts Has The Best Approval Rating In Government And That’s Terrible News For America
Gallup, those crazy pollsters, are back at it again. They recently released approval ratings for a variety of politicians, and frankly none of it is inspiring. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is on the “winners” list, who received a good-for-our-partisan-hellscape 46 percent approval rating. Others on the high end were Secretary of State Antony Blinken with 45 percent approval and Attorney General Merrick Garland at 44 percent.

The Supreme Court justice received a 48 percent approval rating, and while that is the top, it’s not exactly good news. It’s downright abysmal that no one could crack the 50 percent mark, but even confined to Roberts, the number tells a depressing tale.

But it isn’t just the Court with tanking approval — Roberts’s approval rating suffered the steepest decline of any leader since Gallup’s December 2021 poll. Back then, Roberts enjoyed a 60 percent approval rating, but in terms of Supreme Court scandals, that was eons ago. Before the disastrous Dobbs decision rolled back the clock on reproductive rights, which also revealed he lost control of the Court. Before the leak of said Dobbs decision. Before the cavalcade of ethics scandals rocked the Court, and the Chief’s mealy mouthed response.
So, yeah there are probably lots of reasons for his tanking approval rating. And hey! At least it isn’t as far in the toilet as Mitch McConnell’s 27 percent approval!
