Judge Facing Child Porn Charges Placed On Unpaid Leave

Oregon Chief Administrative Law Judge John Michael Mann was arrested on 10 counts of first-degree encouraging child sexual abuse. Mann was released from jail, after paying 10 percent of a $20,000 bail.

According to the Associated Press, Mann is on unpaid administrative leave amid the investigation:

A spokesperson for the Beaverton Police Department, which investigated the case, said Mann was arraigned Monday in Washington County Circuit Court. Charles Boyle, a spokesperson for Gov. Kate Brown, said Mann had been placed on unpaid administrative leave amid the investigation.

Man’s been in his role since 2017, when he was appointed by the Oregon governor. As the chief administrative judge, he oversaw approximately 60 judges that preside over unemployment and child support cases.
