Former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany used to write for this very publication while she finished up her Harvard Law School education. Perhaps she was a bit distracted in school because her recent attempts at legal “analysis” have left a lot to be desired.

Yesterday, over on Fox News, Kayleigh weighed in on the ongoing Trump hush money trial, asking coup fist-pumper Josh Hawley why Trump isn’t moving this case to federal court…

Kayleigh: The NY Appellate division ruled against Trump on the gag order, ruled against him on moving venue, they seem as bad as this judge. Can Trump remove this to federal court, go to where we have fair justices, and get an appeal? pic.twitter.com/DHN7vUl5QO

Oh that pesky “federalism” thing!

googletag.cmd.push( function() { // Display ad. googletag.display( "div-id-for-middle-300x250" ); }); googletag.cmd.push( function() { // Display ad. googletag.display( "div-id-for-storycontent-440x100" ); }); googletag.cmd.push( function() { // Display ad. googletag.display( "div-id-for-in-story-youtube-1x1" ); });

Of course, Trump already tried to remove the case to federal court, arguing that the purely New York state criminal charges belonged in front of the feds based on his imagined conception of presidential immunity covering… campaign finance violations from before his election? Judge Alvin Hellerstein disagreed.

But as bad as flubbing dual sovereignty on national television might be in a vacuum, having Hawley there set up McEnany to commit the deepest of Crimson sins: Harvard Law embarrassing itself in front of Yale Law.
