When Kerry Washington was in need of a place to stay in New York City while she starred in the Broadway play American Son, she happily made herself at home on the Upper West Side. The particular penthouse apartment she chose to rent, which went on to be featured in AD, has now hit the market at $25 million according to Mansion Global.

“We spent a lot of time looking for a place that had enough space for our whole crew, our posse,” Washington told AD in 2019 about her apartment hunt. “We spend a lot of time outdoors in L.A., so it was important to me that my family could still feel that connection.” With an entire floor of space that totals at 6,168 square feet, and floor to ceiling windows looking directly across the Hudson River and out at Manhattan, the space definitely checks both of those boxes.

Multiple living rooms, a formal dining room, a media room with remote controlled blackout curtains and a wet bar, and a kitchen with a dinner table, marble island, and dual dishwashers, are among the many areas in which one could convene with guests.

There’s room for loads of residents and overnight guests too, between the six bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms. The primary suite is sprawling all on its own, with the proper bedroom area, a separate sitting room, multiple walk-in closets, and two bathrooms, both with walk-in rain showers and one with a soaking tub. When the Scandal star lived there, she partnered with RH to decorate the place, but the new owners will likely have to start with a clean slate.
