Photo: CBS Photo ArchiveSeinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David is officially ready to follow Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, and the rest of the celebrity flock that’s swarmed the California town of Montecito. According to Dirt, the TV legend purchased a four bedroom, four and a half bathroom French Normandy cottage in the area for $5.7 million.
The 2,858 square foot house was designed by George Washington Smith, one of the leading architects of early twentieth century California and built in 1929 and still holds onto much of that old timey charm. The spare stucco walls lead the eye to exposed beams, especially in the double height living room that flaunts a stone fireplace and extra large chandeliers. The primary suite enjoys tall ceilings, too, along with a spacious ensuite bathroom that sports two porcelain sinks and a quaint claw foot tub. Though it still feels somewhat antique, the most modern feeling room is the kitchen, thanks to its trendy all green cabinetry, green backsplash, and the Viking refrigerator. It would be no surprise if interior decorator Madeline Stuart was hired to style the place—after all, she’s a George Washington Smith super fan and she’s previously worked on David’s homes.
