Over at V Magazine HQ in New York, Stephen Gan continues to demonstrate some serious pull when it comes to securing cover stars for the American title. Throughout 2024, Gan delivered everyone from Linda Evangelista and Anne Hathaway to Penélope Cruz and Naomi Campbell as cover stars for the publication which has been on the go since 1999. Gan opts to kick-start on a high, enlisting the global K-pop sensation that is Lisa (of Blackpink) as a V Magazine cover girl. Lalisa Manobal (known mononymously as Lisa) takes to the Spring Preview edition for 2025, and is celebrated across five seasonal and collectible covers. Lisa is placed before the lens of Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, with Genesis Webb and Hunter Clem collaborating on styling duties.

“Inez & Vinoodh finally delivering something remotely interesting again,” enthused Blizzard8358.

“Nice composition and great use of color. The makeup adds a lot,” HigthaVandah.

Vogue28 noted: “I like the seasonal concept, kinda reminds me of the Pirelli calendar by Richard Avedon from 1995. I&V have done wonders here, love the spring cover, followed by the summer and fall cover equally as much. However, the winter cover feels like an afterthought.”

After all, not everyone was so smitten. “The first cover is hideous. Lisa look like someone slapped her in the face with white powder and some blush,” commented svpernova.
