Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans, known for his work in Scary Movie and White Chicks, has picked up a brand new modern farmhouse in Encino for $5.3 million. The 5,000 square foot home makes an impression immediately with its multi-textured stone, metal, and wood exterior and glass pivot front door that’s framed by a grand yet simple double-sized doorway.

The high-ceilinged home contains five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half baths and a large, open concept living space that is visible from the moment one steps in the door. Said living space starts with a dining area that features handy built-in cabinetry, and flows to a wet bar with plenty of built-in storage room for glassware and beverage bottles. On the opposite side of the bar, a sitting area centers on a stunning floor to ceiling marble fireplace and behind the couch, a chic kitchen flaunts cabinetry that matches the rest of the home’s wood accents.

Sliding glass doors open onto the chock-full backyard that begins with a covered outdoor dining area, then to a pool and spa, a fire pit, and a guest house that could easily function as an at home gym. In the back corner, an understated gray and blue half-court is on offer for hoops practice, too. Additional entertainment space can be found in the media room which has distinct dotted wall to wall carpeting and paneled walls, creating a true movie going experience.
