The Supreme Court has been dominating headlines with a series of monumental decisions with implications for individual rights, state regulations, stare decisis, and more.

The flurry of activity at the term’s end has included a strengthening of gun rights in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen, a weakening of Miranda rights in Vega v. Tekoh, and an overruling of the abortion rights granted in the landmark Roe v. Wade case in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, among others. As the far-reaching impact of these and other decisions unfolds, practitioners should be aware of the latest developments and their implications.

At PLI’s upcoming 24th Annual Supreme Court Review: October 2021 Term program, chaired by Dean Erwin Chemerinsky of UC Berkeley School of Law and Professor Martin A. Schwartz of Touro Law Center, a faculty of nationally recognized Supreme Court, constitutional law, and civil rights experts will analyze, discuss, and debate the major developments of the Supreme Court’s October 2021 Term.

The one-day program will discuss vital constitutional questions, including:

  • The validity of a state ban on pre-viability abortions
  • Whether the Second Amendment protects the right to carry a gun in public
  • Whether the state’s denial of tuition assistance for sectarian education violates the Establishment Clause
  • Whether a high school football coach’s post-game prayer is protected by the First Amendment
  • The constitutionality of the imposition of the death penalty in the Boston marathon bombing case.

The program will cover a wide range of pressing legal issues, including First Amendment freedom of speech, EPA and OSHA rule-making authority, immigration, Section 1983 civil rights litigation, abortion rights, Second Amendment gun rights, Federal Governmental Power, Criminal Procedure, and more.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the key Supreme Court decisions of the October 2021 Term, along with their current impact and the far-reaching effects they might have on existing precedent. Register today.
