Primetime January 6 Hearing Drinking Game

Tonight we’re getting another primetime January 6 Committee hearing to recap the 187 minutes between Trump’s departure from the Ellipse to his belated message telling rioters to go home. This hearing functions as a “mid-season finale” of sorts as the last scheduled hearing for the time being.

Let’s spend the evening with a beverage or two as we watch this spectacle together. You know how it goes: take a sip unless otherwise directed.

We’re going to see outtakes of Trump’s attempt to tell the rioters to go home. So…

My thoughts exactly, Sid.

New Witnesses!: The committee is still talking to people. Drink if we see someone for the first time tonight. Hopefully they have a sweet deposition set up.

Trump Family Members: Sip every time we see one or hear one of their names. Take two sips if Melania comes up at all. She’s really slipped under the radar throughout these proceedings — I dunno, it’s almost like they aren’t really all that close!

Secret Service: The executive branch security details had a busy day with Trump trying to insert himself into the middle of an armed mob and Mike Pence having to retreat to a secure location to avoid getting hanged. Too bad they deleted all their texts… as one does after witnessing a failed coup.

Jonathan Turley Tweets Some Zany Bullshit: Is he going to spout off about the Secret Service kidnapping the president? Maybe!

“The Beast” (chug a Milwaukee’s Best): The nickname for the presidential limo deserves its namesake beer. Trump allegedly took a wild ride in the Beast during the 187 minutes at issue in this hearing. Cassidy Hutchinson testified that she’d been told that Trump tried to hijack the vehicle. Has the committee since heard from witnesses with firsthand knowledge?

Fifth Amendment: John Eastman testimony? Maybe Flynn? Someone else?

Supreme Court: At least some wackos around Trump thought the Supreme Court would swoop in and hand him victory. Maybe that came up during these precious minutes.

White House Geography: Oval Office, Yellow Oval, the Residence… the committee enjoys walking us through the White House’s physical space. Every time a new room comes up take a sip. If they show a map, finish your drink.

Capitol Geography: Same deal when we hear about rotundas and chambers and staircases.

“Intimidation”: We’ve heard that Trump tried to call a witness the other day, seemingly in an effort to interfere with pending testimony.

Law School/Law Firm Mention: This is pretty self-explanatory. John Eastman’s Chapman connections could easily come up.

25th Amendment (sip for 25 seconds and then do absolutely nothing about it): Texts indicate that the subject came up… and then everyone just kind of wimped out on the idea anyway.

Liz Cheney Throws Shade At Her Own Party (Body Shot): This one was suggested by Elie Mystal. Make it official!
