Someone Should Have Told Elon That ‘Dank Memes’ Are Not An Affirmative Defense
// In our polarized society, there seem to be two camps when it comes to Elon Musk’s goings about. The first see his actions and think he will be the one to save us from all that ails. The others remember this mistake. And this mistake. And these…
In that camp are those whose bank accounts have been impacted by Elon’s Musking. But what’s a little securities fraud among friends?

In a court filing out late Friday, shareholders who are suing Tesla and CEO Elon Musk over alleged securities fraud said they won part of a critical ruling in their class-action lawsuit. The shareholders are suing Tesla over money they lost after Musk tweeted in 2018 that he was considering taking his electric vehicle company private at $420 per share and said he had funding secured to do so.
…
The Securities and Exchange Commission investigated and charged Musk with civil securities fraud as a result of those tweets..Damages from the shareholders’ class-action lawsuit could amount to billions of dollars that would be paid by Musk and Tesla to those who are members of the class.

On top of this, the judge struck a blow to (post?) ironic Muskites everywhere by deciding that Musk knowingly made a false statement when he tweeted out his “joke.” You know what they say, you either die “420 blazing” it or live long enough to get smoked. Maybe now he’ll stop with these tired weed jokes.
…Or not.
