The House From Home Alone Is Coming to Airbnb

This holiday season, Airbnb is hosting a one night stay in the McCallister family’s Chicago residence, decorated just as the family had it back in ‘90 when the classic Christmastime film was released. The stay is set for December 12, but whoever gets lucky and manages to book the place won’t be stuck all by themselves—Airbnb is happy to welcome up to 4 guests. Presumably, the guests will not be expected to fend off The Wet Bandits (played in the film by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
Guests will be able to cozy up by the fire during their stay.
Photo: Sarah CrowleyThe living room of the brick dwelling is decked out with a Christmas tree, stockings hung by the fireplace (which guests are welcome to use during their stay!), and nutcrackers spread about. The Home Alone experience goes beyond just the house’s decor: there are booby traps ready to be set by those staying the night, a battle plan, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese just like Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) ate in the film, and a meet and greet with a tarantula—hopefully it doesn’t go missing this time around. Though the house is quite large, only two of the bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms will be available to guests. As a souvenir for their time spent in the McCallister home, guests will be gifted a LEGO Ideas set that will allow them to recreate both the inside and outside of the iconic place.
