This HGTV Star Probably Won’t Have Too Many Decor Options In Jail

// Small room. Shared toilet. An assigned roommate and a lot of free time over the next four years. If you’re a bright eyed eighteen year old that probably sounds like moving in to your freshman dorm. If you’re Charles “Todd” Hill, that probably sounds like your jail accommodations — because the HGTV star has been sentenced to jail time over his scamming. NBC has coverage:

A former HGTV star was sentenced Tuesday to four years in jail and ordered to pay back almost $10 million for defrauding 11 people, Santa Clara County prosecutors said.

Charles “Todd” Hill, the 58-year-old star of the show “Flip It to Win It,” was remanded to jail after the sentence, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Hill’s show’s concept was that he bought dilapidated homes, fixed them up and then sold them for a profit. Instead, he spent millions on overpriced remodels, then laundered profits and pocketed millions of money he got out of fraud, prosecutors said.

Hey Einstein, next time you do millions worth of fraud, maybe don’t make a TV show out of it?! Not just for your sake, think about your poor lawyer!
