Referring to the filing as “unusual and bizarre,” Mariotti, a former federal prosecutor, said the suit was likely a public relations move on Trump’s part. “I’ve been on television multiple times since this was released, and at times, I sat there listening to hosts recite some of these assertions as if they had some weight on their own,” he said. “And so [Trump] achieved his purpose.”
