Twitter Facing Another Lawsuit For Ghosting Their Former Chief Legal Counsel And Others When It Was Time To Repay

Elon Musk recently appointed Adeeb Sahar, a 4th year attorney, as the global head of Twitter’s commercial, corporate and international law concerns. It is a very high ranking position and, if any of Elon’s prior legal troubles suggest — which there are many — it will be a trial by fire. A heated point of conflict is on the horizon: a team of lawyers are suing Twitter over costs of business that they were never reimbursed for.

Former senior executives of Twitter have sued the company in an attempt to recover more than $1 million in legal expenses incurred by responding to shareholder lawsuits, federal investigations and a congressional hearing, according to a complaint filed Monday in Delaware Chancery Court.

The lawsuit by former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, former chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde and former chief financial officer Ned Segal alleges that Twitter has failed to reimburse them for lawyers’ fees in accordance with prior agreements with the company. Elon Musk fired the executives immediately after completing his acquisition of the company.

Twitter, which cut much of its public relations team last year, did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.

It is worth saying that Twitter does still have a public relations team. It is just very shitty. Like, actually:

I hope that the company will do a better job responding to legal concerns than they do to the press. Now at least. Part of the reason this suit is even happening is because plaintiff’s attempts to get their money back was given less than a poop emoji’s weight of a response:

Letters to Twitter seeking reimbursement for the legal expenses were ignored for months, according to the complaint. In March, the company allegedly responded by acknowledging the requests for reimbursement, but took no action to pay. As of Monday, the executives still have not recovered the fees, the complaint said.

Is it really that hard for Twitter to get back to the people that have worked for it? You think that they’d have learned their lesson after realizing that not responding emails could cost them hundreds of millions in contract breaches and bad publicity. I imagine that shareholders would prefer responses to inquiries be less shitty moving forward — hemorrhaging money is not a good look for the blue bird app.
