What Legal Can Learn from Other Industries

// 300x250_Three_Moves_Millennials_Legal_Industry_WealthABA TECHSHOW 2022 wrapped up on Friday, and it was incredible to catch up with all the hardworking folks in legal technology to hear about what they’ve been doing to keep the legal industry operating at peak performance. It’s also always exciting to go to the ABA show because unlike some trade shows, ABA leans into serving the needs of smalls and solos who have similar but different needs than the Am Law 100 might.

Sometimes it feels like the smalls and solos are in a whole different industry than the megafirms. And to that end, I sat down for a chat with Kimberly Bennett, co-Founder of Fidu — delivering subscription legal services — and Jack Newton, the CEO and co-founder of Clio, about what the legal industry can really learn from other industries. The legal industry is fundamentally about client service and the profession needs a bit of a nudge to understand that when it comes to meeting clients where they want to be, other sectors are ahead of law firms.
