// money cash pile of money benjamins‘Tis the season for compensation news. With $1,061,457,000 in gross revenue last year, Alston & Bird sits at #47 on the Am Law 200 and it’s going to share more of that bounty with associates as it moves to match the prevailing market rate.

As of January 1, associates will see their salaries bumped up.

Meanwhile, the firm’s bonuses will be paid to associates meeting the 2000-hour billing threshold, with additional bonuses available for those billing over 2200 hours and on a case-by-case basis to those making extraordinary non-billable contributions to the firm.

Of note, the bonus scale has an entry for the class of 2016 while the salary scale ends at the seventh years.

Associates seem happy with the news, though less happy about the firm “unofficially and without any explicit policy requiring 5-day a week in-person attendance because Alston is ‘not a hybrid firm.'” Further proof that the war to retain talent is fought on multiple fronts.
