Dr. Seuss Enterprises and rental management platform Vacasa have collaborated to present a truly unique way to get in the Christmas spirit. The Grinch’s lair will be available to rent on the platform from December 13 to December 23. It is a secluded hand-carved cave located in the side of a stone mountain outside of Boulder, Utah, and meticulously designed after the furry green villain’s Mount Crumpit home. The perfect mixture of natural beauty and clever design, a stay at the property is a must for anyone who’s ever admired the whimsy of Whoville in the classic story Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

The 5,700 square foot home is decked out in full Grinch fashion, with his signature oversized organ, somewhat menacing candlelight, and signs out front encouraging guests to “Leave NOW!” and “Get LOST!” As you’d expect from anything Seuss-related, there’s plenty of color and playful details, like cans of “Roast Beast,” “Who Pudding,” and “Who Hash” in the kitchen and a library of books that include tongue in cheek nods to the Grinch’s solemn lifestyle, such as Chicken Soup For The Single’s Soul. While the Grinch himself won’t make any appearances, his presence can be felt throughout the home—especially in the dressing room, where his furry green shoes and pants are carefully stored. His dog, Max, unfortunately won’t be there either, but there’s still a bed and bowl set up for him.

Though the space has all the trappings of the Christmas-hating Grinch, it is still cozy thanks to a fireplace.

You might expect the one of a kind space to come with a high price tag, but in fact, stays in the two bedroom property cost only $19.57 per night, an amusing reference to the book’s original release in 1957. A 3D tour of the space is available on Vacasa.
